SEIU 509 Statement on the Signing of Nicky’s Law

“As human service providers and members of SEIU Local 509, we commend Governor Baker for signing Nicky’s Law, which secures protections for our clients and their families while establishing due process for care providers if an accusation of abuse or neglect were to arise.

Nicky’s Law reaffirms our commitment to ensuring that families and workers throughout the Commonwealth feel secure in receiving and providing care. Our priority is to provide quality, compassionate care for the people we serve, and to advocate for legislation that establishes equitable conditions under which all workers and families in our communities can thrive.”
