Successful supervision is mission critical for human service agencies. This program provides a format for understanding the dynamics of supervision and the scope of a supervisor's job. Based on the core competencies identified for supervisors, this program will give aspiring supervisors an undersytanding of the range of skills they will need to become effective supervisors. A panel of experienced supervisors will present and participants will explore the numerous issues that face supervisors as they manage relationships with others to accomplish the mission of the agency and get the job done.

CSD - Conflict Resolution and Dispute Mediation- SEIU/Local 509

In this course participants will explore conflict and identify appropriate responses to conflict. Participants will identify their preferred styles for resolving conflict. The definition and principles of mediation will be explored. The five stages of the mediation process will be defined and participants will learn the differences between mediation, negotiation and arbitration
