"To Sign or Not to Sign?" If one of your co-workers is asked to sign a warning or another paper at work, and they disagree with it contents, advise them to sign it and write, "I am signing to acknowledge receipt and not agreement."
Signing a warning does not mean the employee agrees with an evaluation or that s/he deserves the warning or even with the facts that are described. You may still file a grievance for the member (see links below). Conversely, refusing to sign a warning does not make it go away. |
