Private Sector Human Services

SEIU 509 proudly represents over 8,000 Private Sector Human Services (PSHS) workers who work in direct care, mental health, and elder services at various nonprofit agencies across the state. Many of our PSHS members deliver critical care services at group homes, day programs, and independent living homes. They support people with developmental disabilities to live healthy, dignified, and lives.Other PSHS members are direct care workers and clinicians at agencies dedicated to empowering people living with mental health illnesses, addictions, housing and food insecurity, and other systemic vulnerabilities.
