Join us for May Day actions across the state on May 1!
On May 1st (also known as International Worker’s Day or May Day), SEIU 509 members are joining thousands of workers and allies across the country for a national day of action demanding that working people are put over the billionaire class. We’re at a very difficult moment in our country, and May Day offers us an opportunity to come together and fight for what’s ours. Our neighbors are under attack as ICE separates families. We’re seeing huge cuts to essential services and education, our democratic rights are under attack, and workers aren’t making enough to live a dignified life. SEIU 509 is saying: NO MORE.
May Day Actions

- LOCAL 509 ACTIONS:
- Simmons University at 1 PM: March for a Fair Contract (location on campus TBD)
- Tufts University (all day action): TUGWU button-up with other unions on campus and AUP chapter
- COMMUNITY ACTIONS:
- East Boston Memorial Park at 11 AM: march to Logan terminal in solidarity with SEIU 32BJ airport workers.
- Boston Commons at 4:30 PM: Boston May Day Coalition & labor rally
- Lynn City Hall at 5:30 PM: May Day rally and march to the Commons
- Holyoke at 4:30 PM: May Day action at Heritage State Park (downtown Holyoke)
- Worcester City Hall at 4 PM: May Day rally and then march to Federal Building
