Dear members,
At last week’s bargaining session, we presented our package of proposals including personal days, improved economics, and pay equity language.
We will continue to advocate for a strong contract that addresses workplace issues. It will be important for us to show up strong at the next bargaining session on April 24 to negotiate our supplemental agreements!
Bargaining updates:
Hotline pay for DCF workers
In 2023, we negotiated a wage increase to our hotline standby pay to $25. This wage increase is not the same as “call back pay.” The retro amount for this increase was paid to DCF members last week.
If you did not receive this wage increase, please contact DCF Chapter President, Ethel Everett at: eleb7983@gmail.com
Longevity pay
In our past contract, we also negotiated for longevity pay which was implemented this past month. If you qualify for longevity pay but did not receive the correct amount, please reply to this email for further assistance. You can also refer to the table below for more information:
Years of Service Bi-Weekly Payment
15 – 19 Years $11 ($286 Annual)
20 – 24 Years $15 ($390 Annual)
25 + Years $30 ($780 Annual)
If you did not receive your longevity pay retro and/or differential, contact Jon Grossman at jgrossman@seiu509.org.
Retro payments for upgrades
The Commonwealth continues to work on a few technical issues to process the retroactive payments for upgrades. Your union is in touch with them daily on this issue and we will share a new date soon when our members can expect to receive this payment.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your Chapter Advisor or connect with your Chapter President.
Thank you for all of your work!
In Solidarity,
Dave Foley
SEIU 509 President
