Family Child Care Providers have reached a tentative agreement

We are excited to announce that Family Child Care providers have reached a tentative agreement with the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).

This is a step forward in building a better childcare system for all in Massachusetts, and it would not have been possible without all of us working together to fight for the fair contract that FCC educators deserve.

You and your coworkers’ strength has led to an agreement that secures wage rate increases and additional paid time off. This victory is a testament to the power of our collective action and holding the line for our families and our communities.

Check out highlights from the FCC tentative agreement below:

  • Wage rate increases for Year 1 of our union contract
  • (4) additional approved paid closure days
  • $1.5 million added to our training fund
  • $2 million dollars for bonuses
  • We retained $3 million for our health reimbursement fund!

The next step is for us to take a ratification vote! Our tentative agreement cannot take effect until you and your FCC union siblings vote on whether to accept it as our new union contract. In order to vote, you must be a member of SEIU 509. Sign up today by completing the form!

Stay tuned for more details soon on our FCC ratification vote locations and times across the state. For questions, please reach out to your union representative!
