| Thanks to your advocacy, the Governor has reversed course on the GIC plan changes that would increase out-of-pocket costs for our members. Today, she wrote to the GIC Board urging them to vote against the cost-shifting changes. While we will continue advocating for GLP-1 coverage, we are relieved that healthcare costs won’t rise beyond the outrageous premium increases that we’ve already seen. This shows the power we have when we take action to shape our working conditions. Over the last several weeks, you and your co-workers have sent over 1,000 messages urging legislators to take action on this issue. Over 80 of them stood with workers and signed a letter asking the Governor to withdraw the proposed changes. We couldn’t have made this progress without you. Thank you for staying engaged throughout this process, and we’ll keep you updated as we learn more about the GIC Board’s vote. |
