The Commonwealth has had no responses to any of the proposals we’ve submitted since January, including the bilingual differential, contract duration, and wage proposals. That’s why we collected over 4,000 signatures on our petition to Governor Healey, calling on her to intervene in negotiations and direct the state’s team to begin earnestly bargaining wages.
Yesterday, representatives from all 13 of our public sector chapters delivered our signed petition to Governor Healey’s office and demanded the administration bring a formal wage proposal to the bargaining table!
Over the past week, the Commonwealth has reached out to our lead negotiator to try to discuss a wage proposal. Throughout this process, we have been clear that we are prioritizing transparency and not conducting negotiations with a “business as usual” approach. That means that the Commonwealth owes it to ALL of us – the members who keep its agencies running every day – to show up to negotiations with a fair wage proposal.
All members are welcome to attend an upcoming bargaining session as observers. There are evening bargaining dates available for members to attend without taking time off of work. Please join us!
